Ingredients:

1/4 cup oil

1 teaspoon garlic paste

1 teaspoon ginger paste

1 tablespoon mango powder

1 teaspoon kashmiri powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon red chilli powder

1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder

1/4 teaspoon garam masala

1 tablespoon chaat masala

2-3 cans chickpeas

Cilantro (optional)

Instructions:

1. Pour the 1/4 cup oil in a pot on medium heat. Now add the garlic and ginger paste. Stir and cook for 1-2 mins.

2. Add the spices in. Add the mango powder, kashmiri chilli powder, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, chaat masala and mix together. Pour around 1/4 cup water in it and cook it for 1-2 mins. Pour more water if needed (a little bit at a time like 1/4 cup at a time).

3. Now add the chickpeas in (2 or 3 cans). Mix it well and cook for 5 minutes. Now add 1 - 1 1/2 cup(s) of water. Mix and cover with a lid for 5-7 mins on medium heat.

4. Uncover it and stir. Now cover again for another 5-7 minutes. You can cook it more if you want it less watery. I like to also squish some chickpeas on the side of the pot with the spoon to make the liquid a bit thicker. Sprinkle some cilantro if you like and enjoy.

Serve with rice or naan, and salad.
